Grâce à des années de recherche et d’expériences cliniques, la technique Cox (flexion/distraction) est devenue l’une des approches les plus respectées pour le traitement non-chirurgical de la colonne vertébrale. Ses protocoles cliniques permettent de traiter plusieurs types de discopathies et de sténoses. De plus, elle s’avère efficace pour le traitement des syndromes facettaires, des entorses lombaires, des spondylolisthèses, des radicolopathies et des sciatalgies. Selon le rapport du « National Board of Chiropractic Examiners » (2010), près de 64% de la profession américaine utilise la flexion/distraction en pratique.
